Indispensable Real Estate Agents
As a real estate agent, your goal is to be indispensable to your clients and your reputation is at the heart of your business. And one of our most important goals at BHHS Homesale Realty is to help new agents become indispensable to their clients. With that in mind, we've put together a list five traits that successful real estate agents rely upon to attract – and keep – their long list of satisfied clients.

The first thing to remember as a new real estate agent is that you're helping people make a very important, significant financial transaction. A good client-agent relationship requires quite a bit of trust and the best way to build that trust is by taking the right actions for your clients.

  1. Reliable – This is a catch-all trait that covers the little things that ultimate show clients you can be trusted with such a big decision. Show up on time, return calls promptly, and always make an effort to do what you say you'll do, when you say you'll do it. Reliability is absolutely critical to real estate success, and the good news is that it's a skill you can develop like any other. Make it a habit.
  2. Curious – So you've passed your licensing test, and that means you can put away the books... right? Not quite. There is always something new to learn in the real estate world, and the best agents tend to be those who never stop learning. Never assume that what you know today will be enough to carry you in the future, and always look for opportunities to learn from experienced, successful agents who are willing to share their wisdom.
  3. Client-Focused – There is plenty of competition for real estate clients, and most people are more willing to choose an agent who values their time, feedback, and priorities. Take the time to know your clients, build relationships, and learn what makes them tick. If you plan on targeting a specific demographic or real estate niche, be sure to learn everything that you can about your target audience.
  4. Enthusiasm – People will be more likely to work with you if they can see that you enjoy what you do, and there are many ways to show that enthusiasm. Some agents take the high-energy approach, while others show their passion through learning and attention to detail. Just be authentic, and go with what suits your personality.
  5. Results – While there are many qualities that will help you win real estate clients, there's no substitute for the confidence that comes from closing deals. Success breeds success, and closing deals also gives you some gold-plated references when you're working to attract new clients. It may feel like a trickle at first, but with a few deals under your belt the floodgates of confidence will open. Stick with it, put the work in, and you'll be rewarded.

It's important to develop the traits that lead to success in real estate, but it's also a good idea to remember that even the most successful, experienced agents were new to real estate once. Many of those successful agents passed through our doors at the start of their careers and you can contact us at BHHS Homesale Realty to do the same.
