5 Real Estate Agent Pet Peeves
Why a career in real estate? Now that's a question every real estate agent needs to get used to.  You're sure to hear it from family and friends. After all, it can be tough to really "get" the real estate world from the outside looking in.

Choosing to become a real estate agent is an amazing career that lets you make a difference in others' lives while building your income and a reputation you can be proud of. However, even the most successful real estate agents have tough days now and then: You know the kind – when it seems like it's just one thing after another!

If you ask ten real estate agents what makes them "crazy," you'll get a varied list from each person.  However, a few challenges continue to appear atop each person's list.

Here is a list of some of the most common things you'll find:

  1. Friends and Family Who Hire Another Agent
You'll hear time and again that friends and family members are your first source of referral business. By making a good impression, you could end up with dozens of new clients down the line ... but not if they never give you the chance. It's hard not to wonder, "Was it something I said?"

  2. When Clients Ask to Reduce the Commission
There are all kinds of different ways to negotiate concessions, manage financing, and reduce the final price on a property. As the real estate agent, though, you're the most visible "cost." Look out: Clients aren't afraid to ask this even if they feel confident you're doing a good job!

  3. Appraisal Problems
There's nothing worse than finding out a client's plans are in disarray because something bad was found during property appraisal. The worst thing about it? There's really nothing you can do. Waiting is the hardest part, and you could find that the deal you planned is history.

  4. Mortgage Financing Issues
Financing is a chore for both the client and the real estate agent. Many agents make this easier by specializing in certain forms of financing, but this can restrict the clients they are positioned to serve. Just as worrisome is when clients drag their feet on getting the financing process started.

  5. People Who Think Being a Real Estate Agent is Easy
Typically, real estate agents have the benefit of being safe and comfortable during their work day, but that doesn't mean roadblocks and hurdles don't present themselves. Delivering on clients' needs on tight timelines can be stressful, and it's all too easy to knock it before you try it.
