Your customers are everything when it comes to real estate, and as an agent, one of your first missions should be to establish a customer base and make them customers for life. A customer database is critical to success and will ultimately become the lifeblood of your business.
This is the very reason why Homesale Realty prioritizes a customer-focused real estate career with an emphasis on establishing a customer foundation. We understand that getting started in any new career field can be challenging, but with so much riding on this fundamental part of your business, how do you build a customer database that works for you?
Building your customer database isn't an overnight process and will take some considerable time and work but getting started shouldn't be burdensome. Start building your customer database, like most small business owners do, with friends, family, and personal contacts.
Establishing your client "Rolodex" should begin with your existing group of close acquaintances. Beginning in this way will give you something to build upon as you get started in your new career. Additionally, you'll be leveraging existing relationships to spread the word of your new business and have people who believe in you vouch for your character and abilities.
Even though you may be new to real estate, you'll still bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to your new trade. While you know this, and perhaps your foundational customers do as well, adding to that customer base will require you to prove your expertise in your field.
Being an expert in your field takes time, but expressing your knowledge doesn't have to take long. Establish yourself as a real estate expert through social media, your real estate blog, outreach, and by using customer email lists. Using these avenues as well as others will keep both your foundational database and future clients up to date and aware of how your career is progressing.
As we've already mentioned, establishing your career customer database will take some time, and it will never be truly complete. Much of your new career will revolve around goals: financial, sales, marketing—you name it. When it comes to your customer database, though, consider setting a goal in establishing the majority of your database in the first 30 days on the job.
Consider spending 20 minutes each day establishing your customer database. Early on you'll likely have a great deal of business and clerical work to take care of, so why not spend some of that time working on building your customer database? Generate email and marketing lists, contact your existing personal contacts, and generally making a point to build a foundation for your business.
Establishing your customer database is a critical starting point to getting your career off the ground. Part of focusing on your new endeavor is to make your career your first priority. To do that, though, you'll need to put a little pressure on getting your customer database established and running as soon as you can.
To accomplish both of those goals, you should trust your training for your new career to BHHS Homesale Realty. Contact BHHS Homesale Realty now to get started with your career in real estate.
